Real Talk. Do you fold your kids’ clothes?

I’m seeing more and more people use bins to have kids just throw their own clothes in by type. Basket for underwear, basket for socks, basket for shirts, etc.

Do you all fold? I’ve started having my kid hang all his shirts in the closet but it is time consuming and doesn’t always get done right away.

Of course. Everything is either folded or hung. There is a sock and underwear drawer, but the underwear is folded and socks are properly paired.

I don’t send my children to school in wrinkled clothes.

Absolutely, in fact my 6th grader started folding them himself starting 3rd grade.

To me, bins are only for dirty laundry. To each their own, I suppose.

+1 Same here. We have baskets for underwear, socks, bike shorts and tanks. However, everything is folded.

I launder the clothes and separate by kid, then they fold and put away.

Yes.

Yes, everything is folded except dresses and button down shirts.

No. If I'm lucky I've got like 50 more years on this planet, I'm not spending them folding clothes for a seven year old.

yes. I run a load each evening and fold it the next morning. I run, my wife works out, and I can't stand clothes sitting for days. Kid puts clothes away every few days and part of her responsibility is also turning things rights side out

My second grader, yes. My fifth grader, no. Second grader does hep sometimes with towels, napkins, or putting things on hangers.

I used to, but we turned laundry management over to the kids themselves (12, 10, and 7) and they largely are not folding. Every once in a while, the mood strikes DD (12). They see DH and I folding our laundry, hanging it neatly, etc., so I'm hoping that once they're old enough to care, they'll do the same.

No. It all gets hung up in the closet. She has some pjs that go in a drawer, but she folds those herself. Socks and underwear go in a bin in the closet.

Yes, mainly because my husband likes having a task while we watch tv. We are starting to have the kids put clothes away and so a lot becomes unfolded and their drawers get to be a mess. So I will periodically tidy them up for my own ocd more than anything else. I have noticed their clothes really don’t wrinkle or rumple either way so i can definitely understand why people would just de-prioritize this chore!

Yes I fold it and put it away. I hang school uniform polos and more dressy stuff.
DD is 11 so old enough to do it herself… not sure why I still do it but I do.
