How much salt for a 3-5lb chuck? https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ree-drummond/perfect-pot-roast-recipe-2118771?ic1=amp_reviews#reviewsTop |
| My favorite way to make Chuck roast is to add water (maybe 1-2 cups), soy sauce (about 1/3-1/2 cup) and ginger cut in coins, about 5 of them. Crush some garlic. Simmer for about 3 hours, turning every once in a while. Towards the end add carrots and potatoes, either baby ones or sliced. Or skip potatoes and serve with rice. It’s a very forgiving recipe, no need for exact measurements. |

I like this recipe:
https://www.seriouseats.com/bruce-aidells-pot-roasted-grass-fed-beef-chuc I just use regular chuck. I sub a sweet onion if I don’t have shallots, and sometimes potatoes for the parsnip and celery root. |
