| We are flying in and out from San Jose, CR for 6 nights during winter break. Kids are 17 and 12. Any input into must do things during this time? Where to stay? To rent a car or book tours? Thanks! |
| Manuel Antonio. |
| 3 nights in Arenal (white water rafting, zip lines, volcano) and 3 nights in Manuel Antonio (beaches and monkeys) |
Travel planner here. Agree with this. I just booked a similar trip with 4 nights in each for a client for spring break. I would recommend Tabacon or The Springs in Arenal, and the Marriott in Los Suenos. Monteverde Cloud Forest is a must see, along with Tortuga Island, Manuel Antonio National Park. |

OP here: Thank you! Should we rent a car or book a car? Are shuttle services easily available?
Tabacon is unfortunately not available, what are the other options in that area? |
| Also, please recommend some tour services if we were to stay in San Jose and do day trips, and then move to another destination. |
| Recommendations on places to stay around Arenal and Monteverde please? |

Hated Tabacon. Loved Tulemar but may be fully booked.
El Silencio is a good option for cloud forest going east. I really did not like Arenal but I super loved Manuel Antonio. The rafting and zip lines are amazing. Surfing and a gazillion waterfalls to enjoy. I dii it don't go for years but now I see why it's a cult favorite. Food is delicious there! |
| Definitely do the zip lining in Monteverde cloud forest - it’s the best. |
| My God ANOTHER Costa Rica post? |
