Anyone have a rec one versus the other for sweaters- Everlane or Quince? I’m looking for same basic sweaters and am retiring Madewell since all the sweaters I’ve had from them haven’t held up well |
Also, I’m tall and can’t pull off a cropped look. |
I have and like both. I did learn I needed to size up in Quince sweaters (also on the taller side at 5’9”). |
I have both -- my Everlane cashmere sweaters are several years old and have held up pretty well. Mine are a v-neck style they don't have anymore but are true to size. I'm usually an XS-S in tops and got S. Could have gone with XS for a more fitted look. I just got some Quince ones and sized up (I'm short but they just run small) to M. I'm happy with the quality in terms of look and feel but haven't had them long enough to know if they hold up. |
I don’t think either are great or better quality than Madewell. I used to like Everlane but the last things I’ve ordered weren’t good. I have only ever struck out with Quince. Maybe I’m an outlier. |
Landsend still makes good quality sweaters and has 40% off all the time. If you want a very basic or classic cut, it’s a good option. They don’t have trendy cuts though. I also had decent luck with a nordstrom brand cashmere sweater last winter but I think the landsend felt higher quality. I look at quince all the time but it seems suspiciously cheap. |
I have a long torso and Quince cashmere is not quite long enough on me. |
I love my Quince fisherman’s cotton sweaters and find them true to size. I also have a merino wool vneck and it runs very small, I wish I’d sized up.
I don’t own any Everlane sweaters, but own other clothes and am happy with them. I’d say both are JCrew quality. |
Where does the bottom hem fall? When I buy shirts/sweaters, if not petite they tend to sit way too low, like bottom of my ass. They don’t look right. I try to get ones that sit mid-hip. |
I'm 5'2". My Quince sweaters are the cashmere t-shirt style (short sleeve) and come to the top of my hip. The length is perfect for me, so I can see how these would be too short for taller women. I just ordered the luxe baby cashmere crewneck so I can report back on that but according to reviews, it sounds like those run shorter as well. The Everlane sweaters are a little longer, maybe low hip, but again, those are an older style they don't seem to carry anymore. I haven't ordered anything from them in a long time. |
Do you think the Quince Fisherman Cotton sweater would be short for someone 5’9 ? |
Wonderful, thank you! |
I’m the poster you quoted, and am 5’4” and it hits at the right spot or a touch long on me. So I’d guess yes in the front it would be short on someone 5’9” (it is shorter in front than the back). |
Agree, I would guess it's too short on a 5'9 frame. Their cotton mock neck sweaters have held up wonderfully through many washes and they're much longer than the cotton fisherman sweater. |
I’ve been pleased with my purchases from Quince. Everlane also seems like good quality but never quite fits me right. I don’t think you can go wrong with either depending on what styles you prefer and what fits you best. |
