Take or skip AP Computer Science Principles, for advanced programming students?

If your student learned intro programming before high school, beyond the level of AP CS Principles, and your student went on to AP CS A or Programming 3 in high school, did your student take an AP CS Principles AP classes or standalone exam?
(Is it even possible to do the exam standalone, since it includes an in-class 9 hour performance task?)

In general, when a course is on UMD's AP credit list as "lower level elective", not for any class or major, and the student is planning to take a higher level AP or DE or IB class in the same subject, I don't think the lower level AP is helpful for college credit or admissions.

No, the CS principles exam counts for nothing if you cs programming and get a good score.
