How long to upgrade active Secret to Top Secret?

As an anecdote, for one of my coworkers, she has been waiting since July, and it hasn't been finished yet.

This is PP, I should add she is waiting for TS//SCI, not sure if you are waiting for SCI as well in addition to TS.

Going from TS to TS/SCI was very fast, less than two weeks. My initial TS took 1 yr. I would expect S to TS to take a while, maybe months.

It depends on case complexity. If the candidate has foreign relatives, owns property abroad, or has other foreign connections it will take longer/

Up to a year with the introduction of continuous evaluation.

+1. up to 12 months for a normal case, without foreign anything being part of the case.

Thanks all. This is for a secret to TS (not SCI) with relatives in a NATO country.

6 months but no issues like family in foreign or communist countries. Pretty straightforward.

Mine took 9 months
