New Beauvoir Pre-K families?

Anonymous
I heard this was a very big sibling year for Pre-K at Beauvoir -
Anyone know how many new families are starting this year?
Anonymous
I know of at least 9.

Is the sibling policy at K as strong as it is at Pre-K? Or are all (most) K families new?

I believe that almost all K families are new w. a few exceptions for siblings who chose to wait until K to start for one reason or another.

Does this mean that siblings accepted at pre-k could defer entrance to the following year?
Anonymous
no not a deferral of a prek acceptance, but i think occasionally a sibling family might discuss w. the school their interest in waiting until K to apply to / start at beauvoir

I have direct knowledge that this is true. At least in the two cases of which I am aware, it was the school telling the families that they should consider waiting until K to apply/start at beauvoir. In one instance, the fact that the DC in question was a menace, uncontrollable, and just plain scary during the play date [ yes, they do count for something ] forced this 1-year period of "maturity building." In the other instance, I think the fact that the DC's parent is a menace, uncontrollable, and just plain scary lead to the result. I believe the hope was that the entire family would pull up the stakes and leave Beauvoir in disgust. The plan failed I am sad to say.

I'm guessing that there are probably other similar cases as those described by 15:15. So it looks like the number of new family slots for K is even smaller -- maybe on par with GDS, Sidwell, Maret?

I don't know the exact number of new K families at Beauvoir, but it's at least 15.

Can someone help me with the math? 21 kids per class. 1 new K class. 21 - 15 = 6 siblings joining in K?
