Blair Open House Tonight—Question

MCPS lists an Open House at Blair tonight at 7:00. Is it open to prospective families or just current families? If open to prospective families, can kids attend?

Honestly not sure why people go to these open houses. The application is not long, if kid is remotely interested just apply and see if they get in. There are info sessions for admitted students in the spring.

This has nothing to do with the magnet programs. It's one of the five DCC choice open houses.

Do students have to do this academy nonsense, or can they focus on academic subjects?

The academies are not nonsense, and they do focus on academic subjects.

The academies are for electives. Everyone takes all the "academic subjects."
