| Looking at an opp in DHS HQ as a bit of a promotion. Given they seem to be at St. Elizabeth's, what's parking like there for when required to be in the office? Role is in Finance. |
| There's no parking there. |
On that huge campus they didn't build in parking? Metro would be a pain it seems since it looks like a long walk to the nearest station. |
| That's why nobody wants to move there. |
| Next door. |
|
There is a shuttle from the metro station.
When they built the campus they agreed to limit cars: there used to be a parking lottery, but I don't know if that's still the case. I believe you can pay to park at the metro station also. |
|
huh? yes there is a parking garage
then you take the shuttle to campus |
Yes, having to take a shuttle from anywhere to a building means "no parking" |
"huh????" just makes you sound like a complete idiot, which you are. There is no employee parking at St. Elizabeth's, which is what OP was asking about. Most people I know that work there take the metro to L'Enfant and take the shuttle from there. |
Good info. Worked at that corner and know that shuttle as there was one also for my agency at the same place. |
| Are you a fed? If so, you can park in the giant parking garage. If you’re a contractor, metro shuttle is your main option. If they one day restart the parking lottery due to more folks onsite, it will get painful. |
Why on earth would you build such a large campus in an unsafe neighborhood, without direct access to public transportation, and then limit parking? |
| Presumably they did it so that they can claim that they’re saving the planet from greenhouse gases. |
|
the campus is huge
you can walk from the parking garage to your building OR you can take the shuttle from building to building there is parking garage on campus and you don't have to take the shuttle from metro. you can park directly on campus but hey im an idiot so hey |
| No one at Dhs wants to work at st. Elizabeth’s. I would find a new job if we moved there. |
