Halloween Costume

Anyone’s kids already thinking about what they want to be for Halloween?

My kid was thinking about it in March lol, although she changed her mind at least once since then. We actually ordered costume pieces, she's going at Kiki from Kiki's Delivery Service. We're just waiting on a stuffed Jiji.

DS and his two friends that will come over to trick or treat are going as bananas.

Son 5 is going to be Spider-Man. 9 year old older sister wants to be a baby for Halloween. I don’t know what we’re going to do for that.

Definitely. They start on November 1 and morph ideas throughout the year. We are a big fan of homemade costumes. Some years they work on them in the summer.

My 5 year old is waffling between a wizard and Spiderman. Fortunately we have costumes for both. My 8 year old hates costumes and generally bemoans the fact that he has to wear one to get the candy whenever I ask.

Of course! 5yo DS decided on a light-up skeleton

DS4 will be a skeleton and DS6 will be a Minecraft Enderdragon. However, DD8 decided she wants to be super creepy and will be a plague doctor.

I envy people whose kids want to be this same thing for Halloween from one day to the next. My kid changes her mind daily. Right now my plan is to get an Elsa costume as I think that's the most consistent request, but also pick up a pair of fair wings she could wear with a dance costume, and keep her old Moana costume in reserve as a just in case. I think they our bases are covered unless she has one of those days where's she's like "I thought I was going to be a sloth? Can you get me a sloth costume by tomorrow?" In which case we're screwed.

I want to like Halloween, but I just... don't.

We do family themes. This year all the kids will be monkeys, DH and I will be bananas. Last year all the kids were Dalmatians, and I was Cruella. I forget what DH was.

LOL, we had it figured out a few weeks ago, you're late to the game, OP!

4 year old wants to be elsa every day. 7 year old will need to narrow down her choices by next weekend. We usually make a costume for her as its not standard store things.

I will go as a middle aged lawyer who works from home, kids are going as Luca and Giulia.

I generally make my kid’s costumes (made a full Kiki costume a few years ago 😄) so they need to tell me what they’re going to be by October 1st, or they’re going to be stuck figuring something out from our costume trunk.
