NHS in Senior Year

Is there any disadvantage of applying for NHS in Senior Year. DD has 80 volunteering hours at local Kumon center but school says they will nto be considered they need to be with a non-profit organization. With the deadline next week, we have no way of getting the required 6 hours in time. Any advice is appreciated !

I wouldn't stress it too much. NHS in and of itself doesn't mean much besides the fact that you met the GPA and volunteer requirements, which as you can see aren't extraordinarily strict.

I don’t understand what you’re asking.

1. Are there disadvantages of applying?

2. We have no way of completing the volunteer requirements in time, needed to apply.

I mean, if you can’t do the hours, you can’t apply. So why does question 1 matter?
