No thank you Paris:

Absolutely would never risk bring back those spawns of Satan back into my home. Paris is now a no go for me. How about you?

They’re becoming insecticide resistant there too. No way Jose I’d ever want to bring home a resistant superbug into my house.

I wonder if the safest bet is a mainstream international chain?

Alot of European flights connect via CDG-Paris. There’s no way you can avoid all the travelers in Europe who visit Paris and go onward. Most US families I know visit Paris and London when going to Europe for the first time. They will bring those juicy bedbugs right here to you in America.

I would certainly trust a chain more than a 26 year old who needs Airbnb money to pay rent. The chain has enough working capital to fund pest control and workers who are trained in prevention. Airbnb Guy, not so much.

It honestly makes no difference where you stay. Five star hotels have them. You just need to be vigilant.

leave your stuff in your car in the sun for a day or two after you get home. The sun bakes the car. Of course that won't help when it's 32 degrees out but still.

Because your anecdotal story negates the fact the entire French govt is now sounding the alarm on bedbugs.

I’ve always disliked Paris and Parisians in general. Paris is never a good idea.
