Is there a place to go for an elegant tea experience. I have some people coming to town from abroad and this is something they would enjoy

| High tea or afternoon tea? These are different things. |

You don't mean "high tea" you mean "afternoon tea." High tea is pretty much just an early dinner. Fancy tea with finger sandwiches and scones and pastries is afternoon tea.
At any rate, I'm the person who started the thread linked above by another PP. We very much enjoyed our experience at the Willard and made another reservation for Christmas-time to enjoy the decorations there. Yes, it's expensive as hell for what it is, but we enjoyed it. |

My favorite tea at The Mayflower isn't listed, but this is otherwise a good list.
