Under 5 booster?

Anonymous
Anyone able to get a booster for their kiddo under the age of 5? If so, where? Appreciate any leads - thank you!

My assumption is Grubb will have them.

Sadly, Grubbs only has them for 12+.

I know Children’s doesn’t have it yet. Was hoping to get it during the annual check up appointment but was told they haven’t received their shipment yet. Assuming they will eventually get it.

I thought the booster was only recommended for 5+ ?

Kaiser said they will start administering it to under 5s on Thursday

Nope, recommended for everyone 6 months and up.

OP here, guess I should have specified COVID booster. That said, don't think there's a single Moderna dose for under 5 to be found in the city. Pharmacies will no longer vaccinate under 5 and the big hospital systems don't yet have the vaccine.

We are getting from Pediatrician. Probably by end of month. Right now we are on a waiting list.

I can't find it either. CVS is the only one local to have it for little kids but you have to go to the Minute Clinic, and none of them have the vaccine. UGH. My dr told me today to get it.

Scheduled a flu + COVID booster for me and DS4 in mid October at Kaiser. Figured the supply/demand would even out and best time to get a flu shot anyway.

Walmart DC has it.

Regardless of whether people believe that under 5 should get a booster shot, the fact that it's impossible to find is abysmal. The health department isn't offering it. Pharmacies won't offer it to anyone under 5. CVS Minute Clinic says they will but they don't have any vaccines in stock. My pediatrician told us to get it but they don't have it in stock because it was wasteful (10 doses to a vial) and insurance doesn't want them to offer it. I am at a loss.

pp. yeah, same. i'm *hoping* that it's supply-chain bobbles like the initial adult roll-out, but, it's disappointing.

i'm told that some of the low-income clinics may have it but i really don't want to be usurping those resources for my child. also they don't want to mix and match but basically no one has moderna? it's a mess.
