| I'm curious about trying one of these services (Poplin, Rinse, Hamper, Happy Nest, etc.). Any experience (good or bad) or one you would especially recommend? |
| Love Rinse. Nothing negative to say about it. And their workers are W2 employees. |
|
My DH, who is a heavy user of dry cleaning, used Rinse during the pandemic and really liked it.
Are there any of these that just do ironing? |
| Rinse is amazing! Been a customer for years. |
| OP here - thank you! I will check out Rinse. |
| Do any of these services offer ironing for some items for an added fee? |
| Are these just gig workers taking your laundry to their homes?! |
PP. No. Rinse workers are W2 employees. They seem to be dropping off and picking up from commercial cleaners. https://www.rinse.com/careers/ |
| Rinse being W-2 is the answer that made the decision for me. Gotta support companies with reasonable labor practices. |
otoh you don’t know what laundromat/dry cleaner they’re taking your stuff to. The Rinse part is just hauling it back and forth. |
Like an Uber for laundry? |
Yeah. Or any delivery service. |
|
Will never use rinse again. They returned my
Laundry unwashed one time and with others clothes. The problem is they outsource (it’s like the insta cart or Uber of laundry). So it’s inconsistent. I like Columbia pike (has app clean cloud). They use they own laundry mat. I had one incident (received two articles of clothing that was not mine). They immediately fixed the situation and reviewed their cameras to see how the mix up happened and immediately fixed. |
