| Thank you OP! |
| Omg! So painful!! |
| Bye bye raise! |
| The government sucks shit. |
| Kaiser is 11%. Ugh |
| Oof, I do love my Kaiser though!!! |
Ridiculous! $50 extra/month for health insurance vs. a pay raise of $500/month. |
| Why isn’t the government doing a better job of negotiating this? |
If you’ve read the headlines, this is going on everywhere. From the WSJ: https://www.wsj.com/health/healthcare/health-insurance-cost-increase-5b35ead7 “Health-insurance costs are climbing at the steepest rate in years, with some projecting the biggest increase in more than a decade will wallop businesses and their workers in 2024. Costs for employer coverage are expected to surge around 6.5% for 2024, according to major benefits consulting firms Mercer and Willis Towers Watson, which provided their survey results exclusively to The Wall Street Journal.” |

*raises hand slowly*
dumb question, this applies to retirees, too? |
It's not just government. We are enriching the middleman. Health insurance companies made record profits last year. So they raise premiums, deny care, profit. What's not to love? |
| It’s not just the rise in premiums. Watch for other increases. BCBS has been steadily increasing the out of pocket maximum each year, the prescription drug coverage gets worse and who knows what other costs will go up. |
Good point. I consider my (excellent) insurance to basically just be catastrophic coverage at this point, given deductibles and OOP. |
Of course. You think they get some discount plan? Medicare is the only discount one you can get. |
