glow serum?

Anonymous
Lord help me I started looking at YouTube makeup tutorials today, and saw a recommendation for something called a "glow serum." Google tells me there are hundreds of varieties of glow serum.

Does anyone here use them? Is there one you especially like? What does it actually do for you?

I'm 50, have sensitive skin, am BRAND new to wearing any makeup - mascara and tinted lip balm is about as far as I've gotten - but I do like skincare. I use the Skinceuticals CE thingie religiously and it has made a huge different for me, for example. Willing to give just about anything a try, because why not!

I don’t use a glow serum but this sunscreen gives me a good glow. Also use retinol and vitamin c serum which helps.

I have been using this for a few weeks. I was initially sceptical but I love it now! It doesn’t look shiny but definitely adds a glow and a bit of color. https://www.paiskincare.us/products/the-impossible-glow-bronzing-drops

This is OP - and my skin just looks better. It's clearer, brighter, feels better. I hate admitting this because that serum costs a mf fortune. People who've had no reason to tell me my skin is looking good, have been telling me my skin looks good - and then asking what products I am using. So now they are using this ungodly expensive serum, too.

This is OP - and I just ordered that now, too. Thank you for the rec!

How do you apply it - with your fingers, or with a sponge?

Sorry, missed this earlier. I either add a couple of drops to my moisturizer, or just use fingers to apply afterwards. I actually use it every day now, I really like it!

Skinceuticals should pay you. I love this endorsement.

Some of the "glow" produces add a little too much shine for me. It almost looks like 90s frosted makeup. Looks great on younger women (20s) but not so good on me at 40.

I really love the results from Tretinoin at night with snail mucin layered on top, a great C serum (sounds like you have that taken care of) for day, and SPF.
