dr of geriatrics recommendation

| My father is in Arlington VA. I'd love to hear if anyone is taking their parent to a general practitioner who has been especially good, proactive, and thoughtful about the aging process? He's generally in very good health, but I want to help him stay that way! |

| Yes! Dr. Joanne Crantz http://connect.inova.com/physician/mddb.physician.phy_view?p_phy_id=101038714 Although I have not used her for geriatric services, she's always written up in "top docs." I actually saw her 20 years ago (ack!) when I was very young and had a bizarre reaction to medication (prescribed by another doctor). She had unbelievable bedside manner, helped me out when 3 other doctors couldn't figure it out, and I have never forgotten her. I'm always happy when I see her name. If you do take your dad there tell her some anonymous person from 20 years ago still remembers her caring practice! |

| NP here. I called Dr Crantz's office about 3 weeks ago for my mom, and they're not taking new patients. Any other recommendations? |
