Virtual School Options

Hi-

My child is in a small parochial school and I'm looking to supplement his education with some online courses. Looking for information on 6-12. What virtual online/synchronous/asynchronous programming is out there? Looking for ala carte- specific classes. Thanks!

I could be more specific if you're more specific. Which subjects / topics? For niche "long tail" stuff Outschool is good. For math, there's thinkwelll, unlock math, derek owens, WTMA, RFWP, RSM, AoPS, mathacademy, EMF math. For quick questions, askrose.org is free(!), for English there's rfwp, lantern english, classical learning resource center, bravewriter, Essentials in Writing, WTMA. If they're interested in chemistry check out biochemistryliteracyforkids.

We use LUOA. It’s religious but the curriculum is very rigorous and the virtual teachers have been good. Very supportive and they provide a lot of feedback and give DC as much or as little interaction as wanted. There is a synchronous or asynchronous option. We use the asynchronous for flexibility.
