Since when does bleach cost $8 a gallon?!

Ouch! My wallet just complained! Just one year ago it was around $3. Why is there such a massive price hike?!

I'm in Supply chain/ logistics, with a focus on moving medical supplies. So front row to the shitshow disruptions to ocean/air transport, supplier delays due to COVID.

From where I'm sitting, no clue why the price of bleach is so high. Maybe my memory/experience doesn't go back far enough (started 2018) so can't compare but I've no clue. The new normal in Supply chain is stable as far as I can tell. Looking forward to insight from others.

Op here and googled my own question (google IS my friend!). Here’s what the EPA has to say about it but basically supply chain issues but dang, the price feels like it’s tripled.

Supply chain issues will be the go to explanation even though we are nearly in 2024.

I’m wondering what bleach costs in Canada or other parts of the world?

I know we pay higher costs in the dc metro area (relatives from CT and NJ are shocked by our grocery prices in MoCo).

Any chance shrinkage related to theft is pushing prices higher?

What about flu season?
