MD Missed Emission Test Due Date

I just realized I missed the due date by 13 weeks. DMV website won't let me ask for an extension. If I take it in this week, what is my penalty fee? Crap.

I did this once, OP. My fee wound up being something like $75.

Here is how the fee is assessed (from the MVA website):


VEIP Test Fee
$14.00

VEIP Penalty Late Fee
$15.00
(assessed the day after the due date and every four weeks (28 days) thereafter)

VEIP Self-Serve Kiosk
$10.00

Fees:
There is a fee for the VEIP test.
A late fee is assessed after the “valid through” date has passed.
After the initial late fee is assessed, an additional late fee is charged for every four-week period (28 days) the vehicle continues to be late for testing.

You can also call -- i think you can get an extension (but you might have had to do it prior to it expiring).

Also: when I was young and stupid I was late by like 2 years. I rolled up and it came up as $300+. The kind man looked at my busted up car and forgave me the late fees.
