Which Miele canister?

Anonymous
I'm finally looking to replace my 25 year old Kenmore canister vacuum with a Miele. However, the number of models is pretty overwhelming. I have hardwoods, area rugs, and wall to wall carpeting in the bedrooms of a three story house that's about 4,000 sq. ft. I'm fairly sure I want to go with one of the C3 models since they seem to be the only ones who store the attachments on the inside like my Kenmore. For any of you who own a Miele canister, which model do you have?

I just went with the cheapest at the time (twenty five years ago.)

Now, apparently the current model that's the same as that on is this:

Thanks, I see that the Calima only comes with an air-driven powerhead rather than an electric powerhead. Do you find the air-driven tool cleans rugs/carpeting as well as an electric head?

If you have pets, I’d recommend this one: Complete C3 Cat & Dog PowerLine - SGEE0

C3 Marin and don’t look back!

I own three Miele canisters. If you're set on a C3 and don't need a headlight, just get the entry C3 model, the Kona. All C3's have the same motor. The only difference is the included accessories. For instance, the Cat & Dog model just has the charcoal air filter that you can add after the act and a handheld turbo brush for furniture that doesn't seem to work much better than the basic suction-only upholstery nozzle that comes with all Miele canisters. The Marin has a powerhead and an "auto suction" mode that adjusts the suction up and down based on the resistance the motor detects on the surface you're cleaning. I wanted that feature so I bought the Marin but still find myself using max suction 99% of the time.

They have changed model names since I bought mine, so I don't know what the new equivalent is. The most important thing is to buy a model with the turbo brush if you have rugs/carpets. It's worth the extra cost.

Mine was a lower end model but has a turbo brush and hepa filters. I can use it on quiet mode and vacuum after the kids go to sleep, it's amazing.
