| We haven’t heard anything, as far as I know. When does MSI usually make the call? Kid’s game is at 10am and it looks like pretty heavy rain all day. |
|
Based on my MSI experience, if your kid is playing on turf, they will play in the rain. If on grass, probably cancelled. They announce in the morning, on their website, usually around 7am. They have an announcement up there now that says they watching the weather reports and monitoring fields for this weekend.
I think that's a good plan to decide the day of (think MCPS canceling for snow that then doesn't come). |
|
It’s not MSI that makes the call. MCPS, or more specifically, Montgomery County Parks, makes the call about field conditions and cancellations. MSI then updates every one else.
Rainout Line provides updates too: https://montgomeryparks.org/rainoutline/ |
| ^^ usually, but not always. Over the years, I've seen fields closed on the rainout line and open for MSI games and vice versa. Always best to check the MSI website (as my now 14 year-old will never let me forget because we assumed his game was cancelled and it was not) |
| I will check, but am assuming my rec game in the grass will be canceled and my two turf club games will take place even in a deluge. |
Based on my personal experience with MSI over the years, I agree with you! OP, if you name the field I am sure people here can give you the odds! |
We’re at Hoover MS. |
| Hoover is s grass field, first grade, right? 100% will be closed, IF the weather forecasts are accurate |
| Does that mean games at Julius West have a good chance of being played? |
|
On their website this morning, all activities cancelled for today
