A Freddie prinze Jr appreciation post

This is very random, but was reading about Reese witherspoons recent divorce and was thinking about the comments she loosely made and the narrative about her first marriage to Ryan Phillipe, and how it crumbled when she became incredibly successful and her star eclipsed his. Pretty classic tale for a guy.

Made me think of Sarah Michelle gellar and Freddie prinze Jr, who are going strong. Obviously she is not Reese Witherspoon (and I imagine is easier to live with) but Freddie pretty much completely stepped away from the spotlight as his early 2000s rom coms fizzled out and has openly talked about the time he appreciated spending with his young kids. He pursued other ventures like a cookbook, and lower profile projects. It’s refreshing to see a man- particularly a guy like him who was the hottest thing in Hollywood in the 90s/early 2000s- be comfortable enough with themselves to not throw their marriage up in flames when their ego-fanning career started waning.

That’s all. Hope SMG and Freddie prinze Jr have as stable a marriage as it seems!

He’s still hot.

Oh that’s so sweet. Such a lovely post.

Neither he nor his wife have much in the way of careers anymore.

Why is it embarrassing? I agree with OP.

I like him, too. He had a guest spot on Psych that was so charming and fun. I wish he'd show up in more stuff every once in a while - but I guess that would also spoil the whole thing!

He's been involved in several projects relating to WWE wrestling on A&E. He's not sitting at home eating Bon Bons.

Yeah, he’s not doing nothing. But he’s not getting lead role in blockbusters either like he used to. Many actors don’t handle that transition gracefully.

I knew I felt like I had read a post like this before.

ha, Op here. Clearly I’m not the only person who had this “embarrassing” thought to post.

He was in a Christmas movie last year and he was awful. A terrible actor. Terrible.

I've liked him since those cheesy 90's rom coms too. She's All That and Down To You still are guilty pleasures.

Glad their family is lasting!

OP here. I realize my initial post was unfair to Reese Witherspoon. If she was a guy, I probably wouldn’t have described her as difficult to live with. She’s super driven, which is a quality women seem to tolerate if not admire in men, and yet with women, it is often far less tolerated in their personal life.

We don't know any of these people or what the reality is, but agree that FPJr seems really cool.

Unfortunately it's kind of a rare thing to see a guy who genuinely seems like a supportive husband...

I agree. He wasn't all that talented of an actor, imo, though I enjoyed his rom coms in the 90's/early 2000's. And he and SMG genuinely seem to love each other and their family. He seems like a super nice guy, also, in interviews and the way he talks about his family and people he knows.

This is fresh in my mind b/c "I know what you did last summer" and "She's all that" were on over the weekend on the various streaming sites.
