My child has played with DC soccer club for a few years and it just seems like things have become so unorganized. Also, there aren’t as many kids and the coaching is lackluster. What is going on? |
Which age group and team color? |
She’s 7 and in pre-travel. |
Lol …yes I see you have been in it for a few years. |
Lol |
Their enrollment is down. The quality in players and coaching skill level is down. It is a combination of not playing in competitive leagues and mismanagement in leadership roles. |
I’ve noticed this as well. Someone on the NWLL scandal post mentioned they’re going through their own drama. Not sure what they meant. |
We’re new to DC and want to sign up our son. What’s a good league to join? |
Age , neighborhood and playing level of your child? (Beginner, travel experience). |
PP, check out DCYFC. They have a team that formed this year for that age range. |
He’s 9 and has some travel experience. We live in Brookland. |
Thanks! |
Washington Capital United is based on the Hill and for his age has a couple of boys teams each for 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016. Plus girls teams at those age groups. The coaching is great |
+1 for DCYFC. I’ve also heard good things about DC Eleven (no direct experience). |
We are super happy with Brookland FC. It's affiliated with DCSC now, but that hasn't caused any problems so far. The coaching is great, the kids are nice, and I like the parent community. It's not the most elite club in the area, but I feel like my kid is getting good fundamentals while still enjoying soccer, which can't be said for some of the other clubs in the area. |
