| I see more and more people who are so botoxed that their foreheads look like a squeaky-clean tile floor. Is this a look people are actually going for or an inadvertent result? It’s very off-putting imho, worse than having just aged naturally. Anyone else? |
| I don’t worry this much about other people’s foreheads. |
| I think Botox seems to make their skin look rubbery over time. Sure no wrinkles but def. looks strange and is obvious the longer you do it. |
| Post a pic? There are plenty of shiny faces out there. I don’t see the connection with Botox though. |
| I don't think that's Botox. That's more exfoliation or some type of skin treatment like a laser. Botox is injected into the muscle under the skin. It doesn't change the skin texture. |
| Facials make me have a shiny face |
+1 My forehead doesn’t have wrinkles but my skin still looks rough. |
|
I agree that it's not botox giving the shiny skin look, although botox + facial + bright lights on camera lenses can create this effect on like, stars on the red carpet.
But there's also a trend now out of Korea (mecca of skin care) to aim for "glass skin" as a finished look, which means that yes, sometimes the shiny skin you see is what people are going for, and they are happy with the result. |
| It’s heavy tretinoin use. |
| I have always had a shiny face. Never done Botox, though. |
|
I assumed people just stopped using so much face powder. But that plus suspiciously smooth makes sense that for some people it could be effect of Botox.
Agree with the pp that the botoxed foreheads look rubbery over time. Both of my older sisters (Botox, facelifts, neck [whatever], eye work, etc.) have a rubbery, shiny look to their faces — particularly noticeable on their foreheads. I hate that they’ve done this to themselves. |
| That waxy look depends upon how thin your skin is and also its peels / dermabrasion not just Botox. I get Botox and it look like my other skin bc I don’t exfoliate. |
Same. Two good friends were early Botox embracers and their beautiful faces now just look… odd |
| Maybe dewy skincare and makeup products? |
| I find Botox aging if it's done like that. |
