Bunion help for runners

Anonymous
Recently gotten back into running after a lingering injury seems to have finally resolved and realizing I now have bunions. It is fine during a run, but after my bunions are inflamed and the thought of putting on “regular” shoes pains me.

Anyone have recommendations on bunion pads or any other remedies? All the bunion cushions and padding on Amazon have 4-5 stars, so not sure what to trust.

You probably need to buy different running shoes with a wider toe box. Bunion pads have never worked for me.

Toe spacers worked for me for awhile until my bunions got really bad.

You need shoes with a wider toe box and possibly inserts. Overpronating can sometimes cause more bunion pain— that’s where the inserts come in. I would also consider something like Yoga Toes for recovery.
