Sapiens has gotten a lot of hype but also heard his approach is rather simplistic and often cites hypotheses as facts when there is debate.
I've watched David Christian's Great Course on Big History and am currently reading his book Maps of Time, which is an extraordinary work. All of the work is cited and their appendices explaining processes such as dating techniques further. Christian is basically the founder of the Big History discipline which Harari is part of.
If I've read Christian's work, is Harari's Sapiens worth reading.
