No video weather channel reporters being blown around, big waves, tidal surges, side ways rain, things flying throw the area. Just kind of disappointing. |
Climate change is leading to fewer hurricanes. |
I'm not sure the above is true, but at any rate, the rising water temperature is leading to more powerful hurricanes when they do occur. |
Hurricane season is not over. Nor’easters can be scarier than hurricanes. |
Watch out for October. We’ve had some strong ones then. But also, I’m ok with less hurricanes |
We have been being told the opposite of this for at least several years |
We’re in an El Nino pattern and that has the effect of suppressing Atlantic hurricanes. |
If you want that kind of excitement, might I suggest watching a move. I personally am glad that a lot of people aren't dealing with storm surges and wind damage. |
And yet, here we are. |
There has actually been quite a few named storms, we are up to N in the Atlantic. But, many have curved out to sea away from land. We have friends in Bermuda who have held their breath a few times but they’ve avoided a direct hit so far. Really high surf/rip currents though. |
I live in Florida and Idalia lashed the western edge of my county. I'm more inland so no issues but those folks are still cleaning up from the storm surge.
I do hope it's over though, that stuff is stressful. |
I'm actually surprised. With all that coverage of how historically hot the oceans have been, would have expected all that excess energy to create some fierce hurricanes. |
It’s still too early to tell |
Global cooling is contributing to fewer hurricanes. |
