| hey guys, which is your fav battery and where do you get them? i have always used Walmart battery (surprisingly good) but wondering if I am missing something better. Thoughts? |
| Interstate battery from Costco. |
| Do bad batteries exist? |
I always get batteries from Costco because they are cheaper $50-100 cheaper than competitors. But I like to install myself because the hours of wait for installation at Costco in not worth it. I also like their warranty (Costco refunds you the pro-rata cost of the battery if it has to be replaced in less than the 36 month warranty), while other stores don't refund your money. |
| Costco. Install it myself |
How many car batteries have you gone through, to develop a favorite?
I'm 53, drive cars 8-10 yrs and have maybe replaced 3 car batteries over my life. I couldn't tell you what brand they were etc. |
Yeah and you don't want to find out middle of winter/middle of nowhere. Check with a multimeter before it gets cold. |
| Whatever brand AAA brings when I am somewhere with a dead/old battery and they replace on the spot. Happened 3x (various cars.) |
Why would you wait until then? Do you not service your car? |
My Subaru eats through batteries. I just kept getting it changed every couple of years at a jiffy lube type place. And they sucked. Got an Optima battery and have not been disappointed. It has lasted four years now when my other ones barely lasted two, including OEM. |
So it wasn't your car then? Just cheap bad batteries?? |
| There are only like 3 or 4 actual manufactures of car batteries |
Do you understand…..anything?……about cars? |
