How can I tell if I need anxiety meds or therapy?

Anonymous
My response to unusual stress is to try to control things. There's so much going on right now - different summer daycare situation, no air conditioning (and so people in and out of the house for the past few days), new boss at work, etc., etc.

I've been getting 7 hours of sleep, exercising and only having one cup of coffee a day, but I feel anxious every hour I'm awake. On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being low stress, I'd say my normal state is a 3 or 4.

At what point do I move beyond self care? Thanks.

I can empathize with feeling anxiety/stress, and for me, being unable to relax. The responses people have given me are to try to find any quiet time in your day, however possible, for yourself, to self-distract, focus on only you. Taking a relaxing bath at night, if you can, meditation/deep breathing (not tried myself, but I hear good things), even reading something without interruptions. So, these self-help approaches, to give them a chance. Naturally, some stress is expected given all that's happening for you ...
