IVF injections at Shady Grove

I thought they’d show you in person how to give the injections but they asked us to watch the vidoes. Is this common?

Yeah. Not at Shady Grove but common. My clinic now gives you the videos and they show you in person how to mix meno. They also have a service where you can pay a nurse to come over and do your shots at home. Either the first night or every night

Yes, I am with SGF and had to watch videos. If you are confused, you can call your nurse but honestly the standard injections for an egg retrieval (menopur, follistim, cetrotide) are all easy. They are all small needles into the tummy fat, and almost impossible to mess up (besides the timing of them). I could not even feel the follistim needle it is so small.

Yes it was videos. Agree with others that it's not that complicated though. Just unpleasant.

I take that back - actually 5 yrs ago there was also an in-person class that was held periodically.

I did my first IVF cycle in 2015, and they were doing in-person training at that time. By 2018, they just told me to watch a video.
Honestly, the in-person training was a waste of time. Video is more than sufficient for this.
