Where/how to find high quality interior doors?

The doors to our bedrooms seem kind of cheap/flimsy to me. Where would I find doors that don't feel that way?

You can buy solid wood doors from a lumber yard but it’s a little more complicated than you may think. Doors typically come prehung in the frame. If you don’t want to do the whole frame, you have to use the existing door as a template to cut the holes for the hardware and the spaces for the hinges. I haven’t actually done it because it feels like I might end up in some annoying situations. But I have the same problem and have thought about it.

is there a place around DMV area that sells doors and also installs them? we just bought a house and would like to replace all interior doors (including hardware, casings etc).

We bought ours from 84 lumber. Solid wood, primed, pre-hung. Had a crew install with larger project.

What did that cost per door? We received a really high quote to do this, around 1k per door😄

I ordered my solid stave core doors from the lumber guys that I also ordered all my baseboards, trims, etc.. from.

We did this and it was worth it. I got solid core, primed doors only from Lowe’s. Wait for a sale and buy them all at once. It was $250 to install each door (5 years ago). Worth it.

Has anyone done just the hardware and knobs for existing doors? Ideas for that cost? Ours are shiny brass and I hate.

Lowes and HD sell these, in various styles…

Both Lowes and HD will do turn-key purchase, then delivery, then install.
