| Parents of Fairfax HS students - Do you know what the "disruption" was today, mentioned in the email from Principal Aye? Email said a student "required assistance" and there was noise and "disruption." No further information provided. I will check with my student, but wondered if anyone else knew? Thx |

| Texted with my student and she knows nothing about it |
| Was this email sent to parents if aspecific class? Specific grade? Or the whole school? |
|
It appears it was sent to entire school. The subject was “Important Information.”
Fairfax High School September 13, 2023 Dear Families: Earlier today, there was an emergency response at the school for a student requiring assistance. There was no danger to other students, but there was some noise that caused a disruption to learning for several moments. Out of respect for the student’s privacy, I will not be sharing further information. Thank you for your patience and understanding. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out. Regards, Georgina Aye Proud Principal of Fairfax High School |
| Its likely a medical emergency. As a parent of a child who has violent seizures, I ask you to respect the privacy as you were asked. |
| I'm going with an overdose |

Thanks for sharing the email.
How often does a FCPS principal sent out an email like this? What parent wouldn’t be stressed after getting a message like this? |
Stressed for what reason? It didn't involve your child. |
+1 Mine knows nothing as well. |
Good, privacy protocols are working. |
Why would you be stressed? A child had a medical emergency, and your child is okay. The principal probably had to send this out so that when your child comes home and says “there shouting to call 911 and then there was a siren and ambulance and then we heard someone in the hallways…” you will know it wasn’t an active shooter or something. |
+1 These people are just plain nosy and this incident had absolutely nothing to do with their child. To the PP, Stressed? Because your student may or may not heard a noise in the hallway? That their learning was temporarily disrupted? What on earth made you stressed? |
Completely agree. It didn’t involve other students, nor was a danger to anyone, as the principal says in an email that shouldn’t have been shared here. |
| While it is normal to be curious, it is right to keep a child's privacy. The principal said no danger. Drop it. Your child will hear through the grapevine anyway. |
