What to wear: night out in DC

Going to a comedy show and a late seating at Le Diplomate soon. I used to live in the city but am now a boring mom in the suburbs. I’m 37, size 10/12, hourglass figure (and currently 6 months postpartum so a little poochy) - just looking for some guidance/ideas thanks

I just got this in large from Farm Rio. It’s on sale. Very forgiving for a 10/12 and fun. I’ll wear it into winter with black tights and boots.

I'm 10 years older than you. Went out last night for drinks at a trendy spot.

Textured a-line mini; a check shirt; blundstones and a light raincoat.

Agree that "weather first" is important. And also "shoes first" -- will it be wet? Will you be walking? Pick the best shoes and then pick your outfit.
