Shelter in place. Possible medical emergency

Haven't heard anything from my kid. Thanks to the poster who said it's a possible medical emergency and shelter in place; that's less worrisome than a lockdown. If there's more news later, please share.

Just a friendly reminder that lockdown and shelter in place are different and getting folks all worked up by posting on this forum without additional information may not be the best way to engage in citizenship.

A shelter in place could mean something going on in the neighborhood, or it could be as simple as keeping the hallways clear because a child suffered a diabetic incident or a seizure.

Yes. It's key to understand this distinction.

A shelter in place order COULD be concerning, but not necessarily. A LOCKDOWN is definitely concerning though and means a direct threat to the school environment.

Update from the principal: I am writing to inform you about an incident that occurred today, Friday, September 8, 2023, around 12:00 p.m. A student suffered a medical emergency, 911 was called and paramedics attended to the student. During this time, we implemented a brief shelter in place. There was no impact on instructional time. I want to thank our staff and students for their cooperation.
