I haven’t bought a car in 15 years, but need one now. What would you recommend for a mid sized mid-priced hybrid SUV?
It’ll be used for city driving during the week plus a number of long road trips each year. We have driveway parking so could do a plug in or bon plug in hybrid. Needs to be hybrid because we don’t want to worry about charging on long road trips. Highest priority is reliability and a decent sized trunk for camping equipment. What hybrid SUVs do you love? |
| No suggestions? I figured that hybrid SUV would be a common dcum car! |
| I love my toyota highlander. I don't have the hybrid model, but they exist. |
| Highlander or RAV4 are the main candidates. There aren't that many hybrid SUVs. |
| Nissan Rogue. |
| We love our hybrid RAV4! |
| My sister loves her hybrid RAV4 so much she bought two more for other family members. |
| Hybrid Santa Fe! |
| Kia Sorrento |
| Get a used Lexus RX hybrid. They are a consumer reports top choice for reliability and about 1000x more comfortable than the Highlander (which drives like a truck IMHO and makes me car sick) |
| How can you desire such a boring car? Are you on antidepressants? As the writer put it, I'd rather watch paint dry. |

I love my Lexus.
And with the "dealer convenience" fees on the Rav4 and the Highlander- the Lexus IS cheaper |
What? Are you expecting a car that shoots a fireworks show out of its tailpipe? OP, I don't have a hybrid SUV but have heard good things about the Rav4Prime phev. I own a phev car and really enjoy driving it and it has cut my gas consumption by 2/3rds. |
