| Thought I’d start a thread to discuss any happenings on the Woodson front. My daughter got her first game assignment today. Does anyone know if there is a web site or app that allows tracking of games and scores? |
| It's a fall scrimmage league with rosters changing week to week between club lax and fall sports. No one is tracking scores, which mean even less than pre-season NFL scores. |
Ok, thanks. |
| I can tell you that the girls on the field track the scores. Your kidding yourself if you think these kids are out there just to throw the ball around. |
| Lol, maybe your daughter tracks the score but nobody really cares. Majority of the teams are pulling girls from other teams that played before them just to have enough to play. |
| Sounds like an old man's league - "If you can make it great". Nothing wrong with that though, get sticks in the hands, meet new teammates, etc. |
Agree with this post. My DD has played at the supposedly highest level of varsity in this league. The level of play was not great and schools struggled to field teams at times. It’s an opportunity to keep sticks in hands, but hardly a measurement of how teams will perform in the future. |
| As the PP said, it’s the NFL preseason of glax. What each team has on the field varies week to week. In game maybe you work on things based on a score and try to win, but in the end it doesn’t mean anything other than a chance to develop and get a look at players. |
| Woodson? Who plays in this league? |
| Many of the Fairfax high schools. Some privates and Loudoun schools too. |
| Is there a website to keep up to date on it like VEL for the boys? |
Nope. They don’t show the score at the field and there is no rankings from wins and loses. The teams know who won or lost and it’s taken seriously but at the same time, it’s for fun and to get stick time in. A lot of the time the teams are mixes of JV and varsity with some players from other teams sometimes sprinkled it. |
