Thoughts on today's Back to School Night at TJ?? |
Why don’t you start? Or are you just one of those people that likes to sit back while others do the work for you? |
OP here - We were terribly disappointed but wanted to see what others felt. |
But why? Does it matter that others felt how you felt? How would that impact how you felt? What were you "terribly disappointed" about? (Just curious) |
There is not enough time to feel anything OP. It's a quick way to meet the people your child spends most of the day with. |
What were you expecting and how were those expectations not met? |
Each TJ teacher is allotted approximately 10 minutes to introduce themselves and provide a glimpse of their class content. Within this concise interaction window, parents should have approached with modest expectations, akin to what one might glean from a trailer about the full length movie. It offered a quick insight into the classroom DC will be sitting in and the person they would be learning from for the entire semester/year. It also served as a chance to demonstrate to DC about my interest to learn about TJ school environment. |
This literally summarizes every back to school night at every school everywhere. So what we are looking for is why OP was so unimpressed by this one at TJ in particular. |
Out BTSN was 6 minutes per teacher. |
This. |
Yesterday’s BTSN at TJ was for sophomore and Junior parents. Was it different from previous years? Why was it disappointing? |
OP here. I guess the time limit of 10 mins where we barely got to hear from the teacher, and not have the option to ask any questions. We missed the Freshman year BTS, so its ok - if this is the norm then its fine. We felt it would be atleast 20 misn or so for each teacher/class meetup and a little less rush. Thank you for the comments |
How is this different from the previous 10 BTSN you attended? |
20 minutes each for 7 classes = over 2 hours for back to school night not including time walking between classes. No one wants it to be that long. |
What happened during the 10 minute session where you "barely got to hear from the teacher" and weren't allowed to ask questions? |
