Hello!
I’m 41 years old, which in the fertility arena, is considered pretty old
Please let me know if you are aware of any fertility centers in the area that have a reputation of serving this age group. Thank you |
| All of them. You are normal in DC! I used Shady Grove, same age as you when I went. |
| Yep, you're the normal patient base for fertility clinics. |

I would recommend starting at a reputable center here (probably Shady Grove) and seeing how you respond to IVF. You may do great! However, if you are a poor responder/have diminished ovarian reserve, you should look at clinics in NYC or CCRM Lone Tree.
FYI, Dr. Humm is at Shady Grove and she used to be at GW, which I think was a good clinic for older women/DOR. I would consider seeing her specifically and asking about 3-day transfers. (If you don’t retrieve many eggs or great many embryos, 3-day transfers may increase your odds but many doctors don’t do them.) |
| Thank you all so much for all the support and info! |
| 41 is not that old. I had two kids at 42 and 44 via IVF. I saw Dr. Sacks at Columbia Fertility. |
This is very encouraging! Thanks for sharing! Can I ask if they did a mini IVF for you? Thanks again
|
I'm not sure what a mini IVF is, so I'm guessing they did not do that. I did two rounds of IVF to have both of my kids. |
| I have two kids via IVF from shady grove at age 42 and 44 though I did need to use donor eggs, but there are many women who used their own eggs successfully, it depends on your situation. Good luck! |
| I did 3 rounds of mini IVF at New Hope in NYC at age 43 with my own eggs. Delivered identical twins at age 45. Did acupuncture the whole year. Good luck! |
Ditto-I had babies at 42 and 44 after undergoing IUI at Shady Grove. I would go in for a consult, they can give you insight into your specific situation all the stats in the world will not. |
