B-CC IB language courses - in what year?

I’m confused by the language sequence at B-CC. The 12th grade course card lists 3 IB language courses for Spanish and French: IB language 5, 6, and 7. IB Chinese is offered in years 3-7. AP Spanish is offered in years 6 and 7. Which courses are aligned with the IB/AP exam? When I grew up, the AP course and exam were taken in year 5. Does it really take 7 years to get to the final level? Or are some people taking the AP/IB exam earlier?

Yes, MCPS takes longer to get kids to AP because they stress communication over grammar and you need a lot of grammar for the AP. It’s actually a good curriculum. Anyway, my kids graduated BCC a few years ago but AP and IB were often in the same class and they were taught to AP level which was actually a bit higher in foreign language. AP Spanish Language / IB SL was year 6. AP Spanish Lit/ and I guess IB HL was year 7.
