Santa Fe, NM: hotel to recommend?

Looking for a mid-range hotel near the Plaza where our family (2 small kids) could be comfortable for a few nights. Any suggestions?

How much are you looking to spend? Do you want to be walking distance to the Plaza, or will you have a car?

Walking distance (within 8 city blocks, maybe) of the Plaza, although we will have a car. Prefer under $150/night for a family of 4, but could swing more if the place is worth it. Thanks!

The closer to the Plaza the more expensive it is (of course). You might check out the Inn of the Governors http://innofthegovernors.com/rooms-rates/ It in a smaller hotel, but nice, and definitely walking distance. Of course, there is La Fonda, Eldorado, Inn of the Anasazi, but they will be the pricier ones. There are probably some B&Bs also, but I am not familiar with them.

The Lodge is not walkable, but very close http://www.hhandr.com/santafe.php Cerrillos road has a lot of hotels, not walkable, but more reasonably priced. The El Rey Inn is has gotten good reviews from people who have stayed there. http://www.hhandr.com/santafe.php

Not a hotel, but you might want to check out http://www.santafechildrensmuseum.org/ if the kiddos get tired of the tourist stuff.

Check out www.otravezensantafe.com, my brother stayed there last year and loved it and the location.
