Changing schedule

We are new to MoCo and my DD is attending a really large high school with 3000 kids. She needs to switch out of a language class to lower level - how long does that process usually take? The add/drop period opens tomorrow but they said it it done first come first serve, implying it is neither a sure thing and can take some time.

Thanks - a lot to figure out in this massive system.

She needs to see her counselor and they can instigate the change immediately.

They have always been really quick for my DD- though her school is only 2400 ish. Normally the same day, but I’m not sure she’s ever requested on the very 1st day.

That type of change is prioritized and should only take a day or two.
It's the elective changes that might take longer.

Contact counselor ASAP.

+1 Don't wait for add/drop. Go now.

Ironically, this is the sort of thing where you may benefit from the size of the high school because there might be a language class at the correct level at the same time.

I agree with the others that this will be treated as a high priority and suspect you will get a pretty quick response from the counselor.

I’m guessing she goes to Blair. If so there is a form that opens tomorrow the 31st, where you can request a change. You can find the link on the Blair counseling website. Do this ASAP when the form opens.
