Are the reading scores available on ParentVue? I'm a bit lost. I saw the math scores posted several times last year, under MAP Reports, but the reading section is blank.
But I know she got a reading score because at our parent-teacher conference in the fall the teacher told us what it was. I have a 2nd grader. |
| We had the same experience with the same aged kid. Math scores were posted, reading scores were just discussed at the parent-teacher conference and never again. |
| I had to ask the teacher for that. Not sure why the reading scores are inconsistently posted unlike the math scores. |
| Reading scores aren't available till 3rd grade because the MAP-R for K-2 is different than for 3rd grade+ |
? That doesn’t make sense. |
DP, but there is no MAP-R until 3rd grade. |
Does MCPS do the MAP reading before 3rd? We got Dibels during our parent teacher conference last year. |
My kindergartener took some sort of state reading test. Don’t know exactly what it was, but we got scores in several sub-sections, as well as an overall score. |
Right, where can you find the Dibels score? |
Sure it does. They only take the MAP-P in K-2. This doesn't include reading. |
We got a hard copy at conferences but it was next posted again and we didn't get any scores after November. |
| Our KG teacher sent home a report during conferences, after the winter assessment and after the final assessment at the end of the year. |
K-2 used to do the MAP-RF, which does not have a parent report; we would have to email the teacher to get the report. But MCPS doesn't do it anymore, so now the first reading MAP kids take is the MAP-R in 3rd grade. That report is included several months after kids take it in ParentVue. |
You need to follow up with the teacher to get copies of the report. |
