I’m a true “winter”, with fair skin and dark hair. I find colors with an undertone of blue really make my face light up. My go-to is pink parfait by Eatee Lauder. https://www.temptalia.com/product/estee-lauder-hi-lustre-pure-color-envy-lipstick/pink-parfait/
The color is perfect but I’d love to find something more sheer and less “perfumery” and old fashioned. Everything new I try is just too neutral/taupey. I think I really need that pop of blue tones pink. I’m open to any price point. Recommendations? Thank you!!! |

| Revlon Pink In The Afternoon. It's described as a warm toned pink but I think it's kind of cool toned. I'm fair skinned and I've worn this on and off for years. This year I tried a few pinky nudes from Tom Ford (Insatiable and Libertine) but I feel like I still look better in Pink In the Afternoon because it doesn't pull nude the way other warm toned pinks do. Revlon also makes a pale cool toned pink/mauve but I can't remember the name of it. |
My mom wore that color in the 60s. |
So? |

I'm smiling that it's still being worn. It's a great color! |
Only the glassy shine one though. OP is looking for sheerer than Pink Parfait and Pink Parfait is already pretty sheer. Lisa Eldridge’s Luxuriously Lucent lipstick can be built up but starts nice and sheer. Rose Official, Love of My Life and Rosy Shell are all going to be nice and blue pink. |
So interesting how people interpret posts. As soon as I read "my mom wore that color in the 60's" I assumed PP was reminiscing fondly - that is was a pleasant memory for her. Instead of how the "so?" poster read it. |
Thank you! I'm the poster who mentioned my mom wearing it. Yes, i was being sentimental but maybe should have included a smile emoji.

Sounds like a lovely color, and I bet your mom looked beautiful wearing it

I have fair skin and dark hair, I wear this color all the time and always get compliments |
I assume the “so” poster picked up on OP saying they didn’t want an old fashioned color and then someone wrote their mom wore X color in the 60s, which would suggest the color was old fashioned. I would not have written “so,” yet I can understand why the “so poster” thought the color was being dissed. |
+1 That was my mom's coloring as well. It's a beautiful lipstick color. |
