Just stop, why are we treating AAs and Hispanics like children. The Paternalism is disgusting. These curfews WORK, PG County had one, a MAJORITY BLACK RUN jurisdiction and it WORKED. DC needs to do this and stop listening to bleeding heart white liberals and "experts" aka professional victims.

People are sick of crime and want action. If people won't parent their kids that are tearing up street, then the only option is curfew.

Why is it so big deal that TEENAGERS are prohibited from being out on the damn street at 11, 12, 1 o'clock ? Any parent letting their minor out at those times is a disgrace.

Voted for what? D.C. has a juvenile curfew in place now. The people quoted in that article are mostly city officials in favor of curfews. The article, itself, comes off as skeptical about curfews, but no one voted for Maryland Matters.

Fair enough. I made an assumption. But I see she's a social justice advocate, and I think they too, like some white liberals, do concoct fantasies or idealized realities that justify unrealistically lax policies that enable harm and destruction.

Why do these stories assume minority communities are only perpetrators of crime and not the ones that want to put in place reasonable measures to minimize or stop the crime? Several AA friends and neighbors moved to the burbs to get away to this urban stereotype.

The only thing that is going to work for DC is for those in charge to start prosecuting. They need to prosecute the carjackings and the flashmob robbers.

My relative was carjacked at gunpoint. The police caught the teens who did it IN the car. The description my relative gave the police of the two teens matched perfectly down to the distinctive pair of shoes one was wearing. When my relative went to get the release information for their recovered car they were told that the prosecutor decided to go "no paper" which means not charge the teens. Fking BS.
