ISO feedback on recent experience at Auburn (Silver Spring)

Student is a 6th grader. I searched this board but wondering if anyone has specific recent feedback regarding middle school at Auburn. I know it was going through some changes in recent years.

I would ask for a tour and see if they would let you observe

IMO If your DS or DD just needs a small class size then it’s ok on the academics. If they need more intensive supports I would suggest elsewhere.

They have a social skills teacher and they support the main teachers with reinforcing social/EF skills. My child was more supported in ES with that but I think it was bc the new MS social skills teacher was adjusting. Very nice nonetheless.

If your child needs behavior support I would look elsewhere. They have a BS but not always supportive.

Again a tour and chats with teachers and staff would give you a good picture.

Auburn MS has been great for my kid. My child is non-binary. They not only feel
Validated in themselves but also how the school as a community is.

A bump for 2024. Any one have recent feedback to share? We are interested in the elementary school experience.

I am a current ES parent. We are very happy with our experience but I know those who are not. It depends a lot on the teachers and types of support your child needs.
