Size for McLaughlin :ok for petite?

Hello! I am 5’3” and wondering if some of the pretty dresses on j McLaughlin would be too long and sac like for me. I am generally size 6 -8 petite in brook brothers.

It totally depends on the type of dress.

The short dresses tend to fit true to size.

The sleeveless tank-ish dresses tend to fit small.

Then there are the ones that fit like sacks.

It really helps to go into the store. Only order online if something is NOT final sale. I often buy two of a size online and return one.

I’m 5’10 and they’re usually too short on me if that helps!

Mainly, I’ve given up on this brand because I just find the fabrics too cheap. Sometimes that’s good for summer but in general it’s not worth having in my experience. Maybe I picked the wrong things.

I'm petite (5'2") and love j mclaughlin. I'm a super reliable XS/4 and wear their stuff all the time.

I don't think they do maxi dresses well for petite women, the proportions are just "off". but I love their fitted dresses and rarely have to get the short dresses hemmed.

I am 5' 4" and get my J Mclaughlin dresses shortened. Some are meant to look like sacks - if it looks like a sack on the model, then it's definitely going to look like a sack on me.
