I love it. My son has this name (but with the “I” as it has a similarity to my name). My father is named James, and I am named after him. People in my circles don’t drink Jameson whisky so it was irrelevant to me.

Owise it sounds like you are trying to sound like you have a waspy family name to pass on when you don’t . It’s an affectation that makes you sound like you want to sound waspy or old miney when you are not

It’s a family surname for me and even then i couldn’t do it because it sounds too redneck.
