We want to go with a flooring company but they say they just do vacuum and clean before installing new hardwood, don't use a box leveler to see if subfloor is flat and don't to patches if concrete is damaged before carpet install.
Whom should we hire for prep if flooring guys don't do it? They tell me to buy material and use a general contractor since it is beyond their scope |

If you are at all handy, self-leveling concrete is not hard to do. There are several good youtube videos that show how to do it. You do the prep work, then when everything is ready, you pour the concrete, use a large squeegee to spread it and then let it seep into the space. It will level itself and then harden.
